Schedule: Full-time, 40-hour workweek
Colorado River Fire Rescue is hiring a Fleet Maintenance Technician to join our team and play a vital role in ensuring the readiness and safety of our fleet of vehicles and emergency apparatus.
About the Role
As a Fleet Maintenance Technician, you will bring expertise in diagnostics, repairs, and routine maintenance for our diverse fleet, including emergency vehicles, fire apparatus, and mechanical equipment. This position works closely under the guidance of the Fleet Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair gasoline and diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and electrical components.
- Perform preventive maintenance in accordance with schedules.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance using our electronic system.
- Provide emergency field assistance when necessary.
- Collaborate on bid specifications for fleet and mechanical equipment.
- Fabricate and weld steel and aluminum for body repairs as needed.
What We're Looking For
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 3 years of technical experience in automotive or diesel repair, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid Colorado Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with DOT Medical Certification (or ability to obtain within one year).
- Insurable driving record and strong proficiency in English (written and verbal).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications in ASE or similar for light/heavy-duty vehicles and diesel systems.
- Advanced trade school training or college coursework in automotive/diesel systems.
- CDL with tanker endorsement.
